5.56

Different types of 5.56 rounds There are several different types of 5.56 rounds that are commonly used in firearms today. These include: Full Metal Jacket (FMJ): This is the most basic type of 5.56 round, and it is often used for training or target shooting. FMJ rounds have a lead core covered by a copper jacket, which helps them maintain their shape when fired. Hollow Point (HP): HP rounds have a hollowed-out tip that causes them to expand upon impact, making them more effective for self-defense or hunting purposes. Boat-Tail: Boat-tail rounds have a tapered base that helps improve accuracy and reduce drag as they travel through the air. Armor Piercing (AP): AP rounds have a hardened steel or tungsten core that is designed to penetrate armor, making them useful for military and law enforcement purposes. Tracer: Tracer rounds have a small pyrotechnic charge in the base of the bullet, which causes them to emit a bright trail of light when fired. These are often used for training p...

Speaking in Tongues

Image
"  Speaking in Tongues" is a secret code that I have developed using passages from the Holy Bible. This is a secret code for members of your Mutual Assistance Group to communicate messages after they are decoded. First and foremost, everyone in the group is going to need the same version of the Bible. The Speaker on the Short-Wave Radio will read these preselected passages, which in itself is motivating for others to hear and reminds us of our faith in God and each other. The secret code part has to do with the numbering of each passage. For example, John 3:16. The first letter of the book, then the chapter and verse number are counted. Chapter 3 of the John means that the prepper will place the letter J at 3 rows across and the verse numbers are added or subtracted to equal 5 or less. In our case 6 -1 is 5 so J will be placed down 5 spaces.  The second biblical verse such as will only use the Chapter and Verse such as Genesis 1:1 those numbers are added up and equal 2. T...

12 Guage Trip Wire Defense for Suburban Preppers

Image
When it comes to securing a perimeter, there are many options available for Suburban Preppers One method that is often used is the use of 12 gauge blanks for warning purposes. These small explosives, also known as "blank cartridges," are commonly used in firearms for fire and sound simulation during training exercises or theatrical productions. They attach to a blank holder, which can then be attached to a trip wire for perimeter protection. When someone trips over the wire, The wire will pull the safety pin out causing to fire pinto strike the blank. it will cause the blank 12 Guage to go off Why Use 12 Gauge Blanks for Perimeter Warnings? The use of 12 gauge blanks as perimeter warnings has several advantages. Here are some reasons why they are preferred by many: Loud and Attention-Grabbing: 12 gauge blanks produce a loud and distinct report that can be heard from a distance, making them an effective warning system. This helps to alert security personnel or residents of...

CPR is Futile during SHTF

In emergency situations, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a widely known technique used to save the lives of individuals experiencing cardiac arrest. However, in a scenario where survival resources are scarce and medical assistance is unavailable, performing CPR may be considered futile during a SHTF (shit hits the fan) situation. Cardiac arrest occurs when the heart suddenly stops beating, cutting off blood flow to the brain and other vital organs. Without immediate treatment, it can lead to death within minutes. CPR is a technique that involves chest compressions and rescue breaths to manually circulate oxygenated blood throughout the body until medical help arrives. Medical treatment for Cardiac arrest includes advanced life support measures such as administering medication and defibrillation. Medications used during a CODE include Epinephrine, Vasopressin, Amiodarone and Lidocaine. Epineprhine during a code is commonly used to help restart the heart by increasing coronary...

Alternate Ways to communicate with others

Morse code is a system of communication that uses a series of dots and dashes to represent letters, numbers, and symbols. It was developed in the early 1800s by Samuel Morse and Alfred Vail for use in telegraphy. To send messages using Morse code, a sender would tap out the dots and dashes on a telegraph key or transmit them via radio waves. The receiver would then decode the message using a chart that shows the combinations of dots and dashes for each letter. While not as commonly used today due to advancements in technology, morse code remains an important method of communication in emergency situations where other forms may not be available. It is also still used by amateur radio operators and military personnel. Indian Sign Language (ISL) is a natural sign language used in India, primarily among deaf communities. It is composed of a combination of hand gestures, facial expressions, and body movements to convey meaning. ISL differs from other sign languages in that it incorp...

160th days

When I was stationed at Hunter Army Airfield, I used to go to a club /bar called Malones in Savanaha, Ga. I have sadly learned that the club was closed down. Another club/bar that I used to go to was called Congress Street Station. We would go into the bar, they would stamp us as being underage, but I would bring some alcohol pads with me and wipe off the stamp and quickly have someone of age make a copy of their stamp so I could drink. It was so easy to do !

Music and the wars

Music is memory for me. I like to associate songs with certain times of my life. It cant be forced, it just has to happen. A certain song sticks and it becomes a part of a memory. The same can be said of Songs and War. One song that I associate with Desert Storm is Seasons in the Sun. It is a soft ballad from the 1970s. I dont know why but it just is a song I associate. Its a song from another era but I made it mine. Yea, if you listen to the lyrics , it is a depressing song and sad. Another song I associate with Desert Storm is From a Distance by Bette Midler. I dont care about the politics of war and the views of the singer or writter per say and none of that matters because it is my memory.

Garden time is near

  1. Use raised garden beds by buying water troughs for animals. I have 40- and 110-gallon size  ones. They are great for deep rooted veggies like carrots and potatoes. Raised garden beds are a great way to maximize space and improve the quality of your soil. While traditional in-ground gardens can become compacted and lack nutrients over time, raised beds allow for better drainage and easier soil maintenance. Consider using water troughs, typically used for animal feeding, as they come in various sizes and provide ample depth for deep-rooted vegetables such as carrots and potatoes. Make sure you drill holes on the bottom to facilitate  proper drainage. 2. Start composting with kitchen scraps and yard waste to create nutrient-rich soil for your garden. Composting is a great way to reduce household waste and create a sustainable source of nutrients for your garden. You can start by collecting kitchen scraps such as fruit and vegetable peels, eggshells, and coffee grou...

Buggs

You ever watch Starship Troopers ?  Earth battles bugs from outer space. I guess Earth won because we are now eating bugs. Companies have started to use insect protein as a SUSTAINABLE ALTERNATIVE to cows and chickens . They say that bugs are a good source of protein and other nutrients, and can be produced with less pollution than cows or pigs  and chickens Yes they do blame Cow Flatuence Another reason why companies are turning to insect protein as a sustainable alternative is because of the negative environmental impact caused by traditional livestock farming, specifically in terms of cow farts. Cows and other ruminant animals produce methane gas as a byproduct of their digestion process which contributes significantly to greenhouse gas emissions. In fact, according to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, livestock farming is responsible for 14.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions. In contrast, insects do not produce methane gas or other harmful gas...
Some Tips and Ideas for Preppers who are moving into the Suburbs Avoid Home Owner Associations at all cost Home Owner Associations (HOAs) can be a nightmare for preppers living in the suburbs. These organizations often have strict rules and regulations that can limit your ability to prepare for emergencies. For example, some HOAs may try to prohibit outdoor storage of supplies or illegally restrict the installation of alternative energy sources like solar panels. Get a home with as much land as possible When looking for a home in the suburbs, it's important to prioritize properties with larger yards or acreage. This will give you more space to grow food, raise animals, and store supplies. It also provides a buffer between you and your neighbors, giving you more privacy and security. Prepare to get your property fenced off In many suburban areas, there are zoning laws and regulations that require fencing around properties. This can be beneficial for preppers as it allows you to ...
